1985 BMW 735 Possibly a bad speed sensor or fuel pump relay

BMW when on freeway or even sometimes when im not it gears down and wants to shut off so I floor the accelarator and it has no effect but if I leave it pressed shortly it works and takes off and I can continue driving but sometimes it jst shuts down and I put it in park and turn it on right away and I can drive for a long time again until it does it again so I need to know how to test the speed sensor or fuel pump relay.

First of all I don't believe the problems in that speed sensor or the fuel pump relay, check and make sure that crank sensor is securely mounted, and has not been damaged by the harmonic balancer,
