Transmission problem
1997 BMW 528 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1997 bmw 528i and when its raining outside or if I go through alot of water nothing more than what would be on the road during a storm the transmission automically takes itself out of drive and goes to S 2 and will not shift back into drive. This will occur until it is dry out and then I have no problem with the car at all. Could there be a connection to the transmission that might in a sense short out because of the connection being bad and then the water hits it?
thankyou
Keith

The switch on the side of the tranny does not like water in it, I have replaced them for the issue you are having.

The part # is 24-30-1-423-331 and can be viewed at Realoem. Com. It is on the left side of the transmission.
