I have a 95 525i if I drive the vehicle over 50 mph the dash computer shows a Trans problem message. I have read the owners manual and it tells you that the Transmission Control Module is bad and needs to be replaced. I have replaced it with three rebuilt modules and it continues to do the same. It will shift fine up to third gear but then will not shift any further and then will show the same message. Anyone firmilar with this problem? Need help!

It seems as though the EGS brain is not at fault if 3x replacing it does not do anything. The fault may be in the transmission or it might need a chip for the transmission brain. Where did you source the modules from?

I was using a company out of Jacksonville Florida. The last module they sent the shift timing
are different and it doesn't throw the Trans Problem code as often. It still won't shift into the higher gears.

Thanks,

S. Porter
