I own a BMW 525i and im affraid it might have a gas leak. I filled my car up yesteraday only to find that I had somehow lost a quarter tank over night. This is not the only time i've noticed a difference in fuel level. It seems that when I park my car for an extended period of time, I always come back to a significantly more empty gas tank. Is there a easy way to sheck for gas leaks?

Try parking on a clean piece of cardboard. If you see stains or a wet spot under the gas tank, it's leaking.

Can you smell gas at all when you are in or around the car. It be the gauge itself that is giving improper readings. One thing to do is when at about a half tank fill it up and see how much gas it takes in relation to the tank size. If you put in less then half a tank, look at the gauge or sending unit.
