Fuel problem

I have a 1990 525i. Intermittently while driving, there will be no fuel supply. I will come to a complete stop. Then after 30 seconds or so, will continue on. The engine does not shut off, but no matter how far down I press the accelerator, it will not go. The fuse at #23 is fine. Replaced the fuel pump (in trunk). Now will not crank at all. Double checked wires. Did it correctly. Is there a fuel pump relay/inertia? That maybe I need to check? Thanks

Something like that I would probably go towards the Mass Airflow Meter, when they have problems it can feel just like fuel delivery
