I have a 2005 BMW 325xi with 46,000 miles. I bought it with 25,000 miles 3 years ago.
The dealership tells me I need a coolant flush and fuel injection service. My owners manual does not state how often this needs to be done. According to their records, this has never been done but friends tell me most cars do not need this until 80,000 miles. They want to charge $150 for the coolant flush and $200 for fuel injection service ($350 total). Do I need this done?

BMW maintenance does call for coolant flush intervals of 4 years, but the injection service is not something to take on unless there is a driveability issue, so I dont recommend that at this time. $150 is high, too high for my taste. The time to do the work and the cost of coolant does not equal $150, $125 is more like it.

Thank you so much for the feedback. Although they state the coolant should be replaced every 4 years, with my car only having 46,000 miles, would it be more like 80,000 miles or is the number of years more important? Thank you!

Every four years is just that, every four years. Time is the reference, not mileage.
