a couple days after servicing my care the check engine light came on. I was told it is a air leak. I don't think so. Now they want to charge me extra to find out where the so called air leak is coming from by doing a smoke tes. Just to add a day before the engine light came on I accidently twisted the gas cap too tight I think. Please heip me understand what could cause a air leak just after I had the care serviced and check by the dealer.

That would depend on what kind of leak it is. Could be a"lean mixture" problem which would entail a vacuum leak or an"evap" leak. There is such a thing as coincidence, sometimes things just happen at bad times, not necessarily their fault, but again that is hard to know without seeing exactly what is wrong with it
