1995 BMW 325 Car will not start!

Engine Performance problem
1995 BMW 325 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 170, 00 miles

Engine will not stay on when I turn the ignition it cranks as If its going to turn on but back fires from the engine and then turns off.

This could be a fuel pump failure. Test fuel pressure and delivery. The pump is in the tank, remove the rear seat bottom. It is on the right side under the big plastic screw top. Try thumping the top of the pump while cranking, if it starts (they sometimes do) then there's the problem. Repost if not.

Thank you! It stayed on, I think I have learned everything I can regarding fuel pumps, fuel pump filters etc. thanks to this forum. I can now attempt to change it out. Thanks again!
