Interior problem
1994 BMW 325 Two Wheel Drive Manual 112000 miles

I need to replace my passenger side front door latch assembly. The only remaining thing holding it in place is a 1/8 inch diameter verticle rod. The bottom is attached to the latch assembly and the top is attached to a flange on one of the power window mounting brackets. Both ends of the rod appear to be looped around their connection points and I cannot figure out how to remove it short of cutting the rod or removing multiple window system components. I'm hoping their is a "trick" to freeing the rod at the latch assembly end. Any suggestions?

I did not take out the glass and track yet. I was hoping to avoid that if possible.

At least roll the window up and take out the track.
