My bmw has 160k and it overheats with cold air blowing through heater vents and upper radiator hose remaining cold. What could be the problem?

Hi there,

you have a circulation problem, replace the thermostat as a first option, bleed the cooling system, that is run it up with the heater on hot and no cap on watch for the coolant level to drop when the thermostat opens, check that the heater is warming up and the top hose is hot, don't go near the fan and don't burn your self, turn the engine off before feeling for temp in any hoe in the engine bay.

When replacing the t-stat use part # 11-53-1-713-040 and the o-ring is 11-53-1-265-084. Online website for parts is realoem. Com, check it out and send me a PM if you have any other needs.
