Car has been sitting for 2 years. I started it and it is overheating. I replaced the thermostat still overheating. Any suggestions what to look for? I don't see any leaks? Also, there is a wire hanging on the drivers side that I don't know what it goes to. It is coming out of the same wire harness as the headlights. The end of the wire has a yellow plug that has some sort of a sensor on it about 1 inch long.

What you need to do is flush the cooling system out then go from there, make sure you bleed the air out.

I've been there before with a van park for 5yrs the original problem is blowing an EFI fuse constantly when I finally figure the short and fire it up it was pinging and overheating because of a one small hose attached to the radiator. Check all the hoses going to the radiator.

Good LUck

The connector you are asking about is the outside temperature sender. There is a place on the valence that it plugs into
