So, when I turn the car on and try to turn the A/C on, none of the buttons work and when it’s on cold it doesn’t blow cold air nor does hot air blow when the heater is on. Also, when I turn the car off there is a clicking noise that happens and it lasts maybe 30-45 seconds and then stops. What could this be? Help please!

Welcome to 2CarPros.

It sounds like the blend air door actuator has failed. When you turn it on, does the fan work? Is the air flow direction working?

Take a look through this link and let me know if anything in it seems to mirror what you are experiencing. The link is a general guide for actuator replacement, but it discusses common symptoms.

Let me know if that is what is happening. Also, let me know if the fan is working as well as the air flow direction.

Take care,
Joe

Welcome back:

Since this vehicle has dual climate control (left and right side), there are two. Both are under the dash on the HVAC unit. If you look at picture 1, it shows both. I identified left and right.

Here are the directions for replacement. Note if only one side of the system is an issue, only replace that side's actuator. The remaining pics correlate with the directions.

______________________________

Replacement
[Driver''s side]
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Remove the crash pad lower panel.
(Refer to Body - "Crash Pad Lower Panel")
Remove the driver''s side shower duct (A) after loosening the screw.

Pic 2

Disconnect the connector (A) and then remove the driver''s side temperature control actuator (B) after loosening the mounting screws.

Pic 3

Install in the reverse order of removal.
[Passenger''s side]
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Remove the glove box housing.
(Refer to Body - "Glove Box Housing")
Remove the passenger''s side shower duct (A) after loosening the screw.

Pic 4

Disconnect the connector (A) and then remove the passenger''s side temperature control actuator (B) after loosening the mounting screws.

Pic 5

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Once you locate the units, actuate them to see if only one or both are making noise. Then you will know which needs replaced.

Take care and let me know if this helps.

Joe
