is the driver side replacement part different from the passenger side or does it not matter?

They are different parts as they mount differently so the shafts attach to them correctly.

any idea where I can buy the passenger side part ? it seems all that's out there is the driver (left) side.

Rockauto shows they have them. Four Seasons 73130, GPD 1712356, ACDelco 1573428.
