It used to make a clicking sound every now and then but it doesn’t now. Hot air blows out driver side and cold air blows out passenger-side.
Is this a blend actuator? If so where is it located?

Hi"
It sounds like the blend air door actuator has failed. Here is a link that shows in general how one is replaced.

Now, since you have a dual climate control unit, there are two actuators, one for the left (driver) and one for the right (passenger). Here are the directions for removal and replacement. Note that the directions indicate both sides. You'r concentration is on the right side.

The attached pics correlate with the directions.

WARNING: Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

NOTE: The Dual Zone heating and A/C system has two blend door actuators, one for the driver side and one for the passenger side.

LEFT SIDE

pic 1

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the left side instrument panel silencer See: Dashboard / Instrument Panel > Removal and Replacement > Silencer Panel - Removal.
3. Remove the two screws (4) that secure the blend door actuator (12) to the left side of the HVAC air distribution housing (3).
4. Remove the blend door actuator from the air distribution housing and disconnect the HVAC wire harness connector (2) and remove the actuator from the vehicle.

RIGHT SIDE

pic 2

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the right side instrument panel silencer See: Dashboard / Instrument Panel > Removal and Replacement > Silencer Panel - Removal.
3. Remove the glove box and the glove box trim panel from the instrument panel See: Glove Compartment > Removal and Replacement > Instrument Panel Glove Box - Removal.
4. Remove the two screws (1) that secure the blend door actuator (4) to the right side of the HVAC air distribution housing (3).
5. Remove the blend door actuator from the air distribution housing and disconnect the HVAC wire harness connector (2) and remove the actuator from the vehicle.

3. Install the two screws (4) that secure the blend door actuator (1) to the air distribution housing (3). Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.).
4. Connect the HVAC wire harness connector (2) to the blend door actuator.
5. Install the left side instrument panel silencer See: Dashboard / Instrument Panel > Removal and Replacement > Silencer Panel - Installation.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
7. Initiate the Actuator Calibration function using a scan tool See: A L L Diagnostic Trouble Codes ( DTC ) > Verification Tests > HVAC Verification Test.

Hi Josh,

Yes, if you have no temp control on the driver's side, it will be the left actuator. I based that comment on the passenger side. Remember, anytime you are getting parts for a car and they say left or right side, it is determined as if you are sitting in the vehicle. Often times people make the mistake of picking left and right from facing the front of the vehicle and that wont work.

Please feel free to let me know if you have questions or need help. Also, if you have the chance, let me know how it turns out for you.

Take care,
Joe
