Hi!
I am looking at buying a used car and am deciding between a 19 year old Corolla with about 100,000 miles on it or a Honda Civic that is 17 years old but has a brand new engine and clutch. The owner has provided me with all the receipts, etc. I am wondering if it’s a good thing that the parts of this car are new or if it could be a liability in any way.
Thanks!

Good morning,

I would take the car somewhere and have it checked by a mechanic from front to back and top to bottom.

I am concerned someone put a new motor in the car and is now selling it. That does not sound right.

Get both of the checked-out prior to purchase to be sure there are no other issues. People sell cars for many reasons. You always need to be sure you protect yourself from being taken advantage.
