I own a 2006 300c with a 2.7L V6 engine and rear wheel drive. Bought the car in mid-January 2026 and it had a completely dead battery when we went to start it. Connected the jump leads and everything lit up as it should. All the lights on the dashboard for the exterior lighting. Electric windows, electric mirrors, locks, interior fan and all other electrical equipment in the car. What didn't work at the time was adjusting the driver's seat and steering wheel. It didn't feel that extremely important at the time. Before I continue, I just want to add that I live in Sweden and being able to get parts for US cars is not really a problem. The problem is the cost of these parts. Imagine that a front bumper costs about $250 but then there is shipping of about $850 and between 4 to 6 weeks delivery time. Back to the car. After the battery had absorbed some power, I tried starting the engine, and it started right away and without any strange things. It was kept running with the help of a booster. Disconnected the booster and measured the charge, it shows 14.5v which in my opinion was good. Took the car for a spin and everything felt good except for a couple of minor things that didn't work. 1, automatic light did not come on, you had to turn on the light yourself. 2, the driver's seat and steering wheel still could not be adjusted. 3, ABS ECS and one more light, in the lower right corner of cluster. Have heard about that they should go out after a while of using the car. I take the opportunity to read the fault codes which gives U0140. It's been 3 months and two different workshops later and I still haven't been able to figure out how to get rid of this error code? The problem in Sweden is that it is almost impossible to find someone who programs these older cars. And I'm talking about pretty much all "older" US cars. So now to the real question: where is the BCM module located? I've received several different offers when I googled. Under the steering wheel, behind the glove compartment, in the middle of the dashboard. Also received offers that say FCM is the same thing, which in the next search is completely dismissed. I personally think it's the module that sits on the right wheel arch facing the passenger. This module is most reminiscent of a module that is interconnected with most of the other components in the car. If that's true, what should I check extra carefully that could cause this error code? And another quick question: what do I need to be able to program, erase, update and check the older cars here at home, as I said, it is almost impossible to find someone who does this.

Yep, that can be a problem, but anyone that works on US cars should be able to program the new BCM.

The code U0140 means: Lost Communication With Body Control Module (BCM)

So I would check the fuses that run the BCM for power, fuse#44 and fuse#29 in the fuse panel in the trunk, these fuses must be good and have power, this guide can help you test them.

You are correct, the BCM is the FCM which is located by of the integrated control module (ICM) under the hood on the right side. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens. Ken

Thanks for the reply. All fuses are intact both in the FCM and also in the trunk. What is that "box" that sits between the passenger and the wheel arch? Where the connector for the hood is located, there is also a box with 4 connectors. Black, orange, white and green. Isn't that BCM?Had it in front of me and it says something about upgrading.
You might think that there shouldn't be any problem finding someone who can program my BCM. I have contacted Chrysler dealers here in Sweden and they cannot help as it is far too old software.I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't buy what's needed for programming and then contact auto repair shops around here so I can do this work. But apparently I can order a new BCM that is programmed to my VIN number. I hope to get some advice from you on how you would have done it?

I have looked at Flashmaster's website and According to them, the BCM is the module that is located where the connector to the hood is located. If that's the case, then I wonder why many people claim that FCM is the same as BCM?

Yes, the FCM and BCM are the same thing. Can you upload an image of the part in question so I can confirm?
