We are needing to replace the PCM and to do that you must disconnect the negative battery terminal. Can you disconnect the terminal from the access under the hood or do you have to disconnect the terminal directly from the battery which you have to take off the driver side tire to do?

Hello and welcome to 2CarPros. You can isolate the battery by removing the negative cable from the post on the strut tower. Items 1 and 2 in the picture. Notice the hole 3 in the picture, that will slip over the post to secure the cable. Now for the big question, do you have a way to program the replacement PCM to match your vehicle? They are not plug and play.

The plug & play PCM was a success. The car wouldn’t shift into third gear and was idling at 4,000 RPM's. Took maybe thirty minutes and the car was shifting like new. Plus I saved over $900.00.
