The alternative in the picture is the correct one? Did you post is picture? I do not see one? Also the one that was replaced you had tested and it tested bad?

Use a voltmeter and put the negative lead to the case of the alternator and the positive lead to the terminal a at the back of the alternator you should have battery voltage?
