Hello, my car responds very badly when I press the accelerator, it does not accelerate or after a while it suddenly responds and when it stops in idle it vibrates and turns off instantly. (Note: I replaced the fuel pump and cleaned the injectors but nothing changed.)

Hi,

What you described can be several things. For example, it could be a problem with the ignition system, a partially plugged catalytic converter, and so on. By chance, does the check engine light stay on when the engine is running? If it does, have the computer scanned to identify diagnostic trouble codes. That will point us in the right direction. Here is a link that shows how and why scanning the CAN is the best thing to do for this new of a vehicle:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/can-scan-controller-area-network-easy

If the light doesn't stay on, take a look through this link and let me know if it seems to mirror what you experience:

One last question. When it stalls, does it start right back up?

Let me know.

Joe

Hi,

When it stalls, are you able to restart the vehicle right away? Also, when you place it in gear, does the vehicle jump similar to how a vehicle having a manual transmission would react if the clutch was let out too quickly?

Let me know.

Okay, based on the info, it sounds like you could have something as simple as a vacuum leak, or in fact, the catalytic converter could be plugged.

Start by checking for vacuum leaks. Here is a link that explains what to look for, how to test, and how to repair:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-use-an-engine-vacuum-gauge

I do have one other question. After you experience the hesitation, does the vehicle seem to have normal power to accelerate? Have you ever noticed any rattling from under the vehicle or in the engine compartment?

Let me know.

No, its acceleration is so bad I press the accelerator until the end and the car is running at 60 km/h, I hear a rattling sound I think it's from fuel tank.

Do me a favor. I have a feeling the internal part of the catalytic converter is loose and restricting airflow on and off.

Take a rubber mallet and tap on the exhaust to see if you can recreate the noise you hear. If you can hear it, have a helper try to locate it.

Let me know what you find.
