Pretensioner would be in the retractor side. Sort of a mini airbag charge or heavy spring that pulls the belt tight in the event of an impact. Unfortunately, this code is set for any of them in that car as it fires both of them and only the passenger classification sensor determines if the passenger side actually goes off. So if you have a passenger, it sets off both, if not only the driver's side trips, but both are monitored with the same circuit and set the same code. So, a simple test like unplugging the passenger side, won't set a different code than unplugging the driver's side. Instead, you need a scan tool and the correct diagnostic load to test the system and determine which side is the problem. The tools are part number 418-F088 and are special diagnostic loads used to test the system. Basically, you disconnect one side, plug in the tool, then erase the code and see if it returns on the restart. If it does, you try the other side. And if it doesn't return you replace that belt retractor. (Won't be the middle belt. It doesn't have one in it) There are other tests for resistance and power but most of the time the scan tool and the loads will show the problem. Do not attempt to test the resistance of the pretensioner, the voltage from some meters can set them off!
