Multiple problems

Hello all, first post on the forum nice to meet you.

So I bought this vehicle months ago and realized it had an EML. I checked and the EML was for bank 1 lambda sensor, so I got it changed and still got the same fault codes. I then took it to a mechanic and he changed the timing chain, the water pump and the oil. I was having a rough idle at the time and this helped a little bit with that but it did not sort the sensor light. I then got a code showing for a misfire so I took it back to the mechanic and they said the coil pack was done and that I needed a new one. So I got that done as well. Again it improved the idle however I still kept getting this bank 1 sensor fault code and EML. What could be causing this if it is not the actual sensor?

Also, my engine is rattling like a bag of spanners once again even though I have a new coil pack and a new timing chain. It would also now appear that oil is leaking from somewhere on the engine block.

I know it complicated but any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

First of all you need to confirm the sensor is equivalent and good. New parts are known to fail as well.
Secondly the wiring for the sensor and engine control module has to be checked.
Erratic idling are seldom caused by the O2 sensor and it could be due to compression or vacuum leakage. Have the engine compression tested. Check for vacuum leakages along intake.

Were the spark plugs checked or replaced?

Where is the rattling noise coming from? Is it due to vibration as a result of the unstable idling or is it from engine internal working components?

As to the oil leakage, you need to find the source of it. It most probably is due to bad gaskets or seals.
