I asked what the part was that the thermostat housing was bolted to, and a mechanic answered it was the water pump. I disagreed and after researching it looks like the crossover. Could this be right?

Hi,

The thermostat housing bolts to the intake manifold. Take a look at the pictures attached for more detail. Let me know if there are more questions. Thanks

You are right. Thanks. How do I remove it. The bolts are on the bottom side of the manifold. Appreciate your help.

This is part of the manifold and is not removable separate. It is a single molded component.

Here are the steps to remove the intake manifold. Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks. I watched it on YouTube. The guy had a new intake with built in rubber gaskets. No gasket sealer involved. Looked easier.

Haha. This is a little involved but not a bad job. I would do it but I have a job where I don't have to get my hands dirty anymore and I do this on the side. I like having clean finger nails too much to go back to actually turning wrenches.

Let us know if you need anything else.

Thanks for your help Kenny. I finished the intake manifold job today. I also replaced the serpentine belt and spark plugs.
