My antifreeze reservoir is low and when hooked to a pressure pump, leaks did not appear. Seems to be a leak into engine. Smell antifreeze and dipstick reflects as such.

Question is, can sealant fluid be used to resolve issue of a leak? If so, which brand works best?

Stop leak is just a waste of time, sorry. It may work for a week or a month but the problem will not be resolved. Stop leak products can also block radiators badly as well. If you have a head problem get it repaired adding stop leak will only increase the repair bill when it does finally fail big time and it will fail. Do it once and do it right, this will save you money in the long term.

As MHP says, the stop leak items are generally not worth it. For every person who has had them work there are ten more who ended up replacing a lot of parts because they were plugged.
