What antifreeze do I put in my van? I went to o’Reilly auto parts and got their dex cool compatible antifreeze and coolant. Will this work in my van? And how much antifreeze does it take if I flush all the old out?

Hello,

I have included the information that you requested in the diagrams down below. I have included information on not only what type of coolant goes in your vehicle, but the capacity as well. Please get back to us with how everything turns out.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello again,

203 degrees is the temperature the thermostat starts to open at so I think your vehicle's is working perfectly. Don't forget that when you add antifreeze to your cooling system the boiling point raises to around 250 - 260 degrees, not 212 like straight water boils at.

Thanks,
Alex

So as long as it’s under 250 I’m good because it goes a little over the half way mark and jumps back to the half way mark

Hello again,

Okay, look for an area that is really clean, or looks "washed". Check all hose ends and clamps, bottom of the water pump "weep hole", radiator cap, heater hoses and clamps, heater core(inside floorboard wet), and if you can't find it with a good visual inspection, then go to the links below.

Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you find out. If you still can't find anything we will have other things to test. Let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
