Please help!

Sir, I have only one serious minor issue in my vehicle listed above.

The Head Unit, MID Display Unit, horn is all okay. No issues. All parts are OEM.

However, none of the steering button controls are functioning when the MID Display is in standby mode.

First, I have to play media either via Aux, CD or FM using the buttons on the Head Unit. Only thereafter, all steering audio controls are working as normal. Is this normal? Are the steering controls designed to work only when the first media is being played.

I have also confirmed changes in voltage to the signal input line whenever any steering buttons are pressed. This confirms the signal line is okay.

Please help to fix why buttons are not working when MID Display is in standby mode. Thanks.

Where did you check for voltage signal from the buttons? Did you check past the clock spring? It sounds like this is a programming issue if the buttons will work if you put the cluster on any other screen than the standby screen.

Can you get a picture of the screen that does not work?

Do you know for a fact that these buttons have worked before when the cluster is on standby mode?

We do not have this vehicle in the USA, so I don't have it to compare to another one as I am wondering if this is normal. The only reason is, we do have screens on some vehicles that will cause certain functions to not work.

Also, since we don't have this vehicle in the USA, I am not able to get an exact wiring diagram. However, it looks like all these controls are direct inputs to the cluster.

So basically, if they are not working when the cluster is in a certain screen then I suspect the cluster itself is the issue.

Please see the wiring diagram below on a similar vehicle as I am sure yours is the same.
