I have a 1990 prelude that wont start sometimes. This usually occurs when the outside temp is hot. What is happening is when trying to start the car, it will turn over fine and seems like it is going to start but fails to. It initially is getting a small amount of fuel and them seems like it is getting no fuel. Sometimes if I bang on the gas tank while the car is being turned over it starts or if I wait a few minutes and try again it will start. Otherwise the car starts and runs fine. Just sometimes it leaves me sitting for a few extra minutes. It has a new fuel pump and other main electrical ignition parts.

I am not sure how long ago you replaced the fuel pump but I would take a look at the fuel filter as the older vehicle may have had some sediment in the line. Now the next thing I would check is the Electronic Fuel Injector relay.

I'm not surre about preludes but on accords their is a relay under drivers side that is intermittant that causes that problem. It's just a little box. Solder connections go cold.
