The man that I bought it from said that it needed a tune up. Everytime I would rev it, it would miss out on one of the cylinders and try to rev. Then, instead of 1000 RPMs, it runs at 500 then slowly runs back up to 1000 and idles normal. I had just replaced: the fuel filter, belt, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. Nohing I had done was effective to fix it. Is it because the Fuel injector needs tuned or is it something else? I am at my wits end now.

I have an '88 Trans Am with exhaust issues, but my T/A wouldn't idle properly and would miss fire. All I did was clean off the spark plugs and got a spark plug gapper to make sure they were gapped correctly. Then we got the carb. Cleaner and cleaned off a lot of the build up around the engine. I don't know if you've tried that, but it helped me out.

Go get the service manual for it. It's like a macanics bible! It's easy to use and understand and teaches you a lot. I love this book. It's got a ton of great information in it.
