I’m looking at buying the vehicle listed above, but it states on the dash it needs an alarm system service required! How can I repair this?

There is no one repair for this but basically it means that someone may have tampered with it or damaged a component in it.

So, this means we would need to start with checking for codes to find out if there are any so that we can figure out how serious this is.

Here is a guide that will help with this:

However, if you have not bought this vehicle then the negotiating scales are tipped in your favor. This would not be something that would scare me off the vehicle but clearly this is something that needs to be reflected in the price.

You could tell them they need to fix it, but this is risky because if they figure out a way to just turn the light off for a week then they could trick you.

If this is from a sales facility, then I would get a warranty put on it like a 30-day warranty.

If this is a private party sale, then you will need to get them to take money off the price before I would agree.

Let me know if you are able to get codes and we can go from there. Thanks
