Nothing happens when I turn the air on. Nothing happens; this was a rental vehicle so I think it might have been disconnected?

Hello Shane,
The most common reason for this to happen is the system is low on refrigerant.

If the charge is okay here is another guide to help fix the problem, I would check the fuses as well (fuse #42 in the fuse panel under the hood).
