Aftermarket radio display only comes on when the weather is really cold for a certain period then shuts off. When it is hot out the display doesn’t come on. What could be the problem?

Thanks for visiting 2CarPros.

This is most likely due to what's called a "cold solder joint" in the display. This is a solder joint that is imperfect and makes poor contact. Temperature changes cause expansion and contraction affecting the joint. The solution is to disassemble and resolder the circuit board connections. I suggest contacting the manufacturer and having them recommend one of their repair facilities. This repair usually runs $50.00 to $100.00.
