I have noticed recently that I am hearing my car's air compressor clicking on and off every couple of minutes (every minute when its hot out). I am still getting cold air without any problem. The blowing sound is really loud and is audible from outside of the car. My rpms do not change when it cycles. Can you give me an idea as to what the problem is? Thanks!

Hello,

The A/C compressor clutch is designed to engage on and off during A/C operation. However, if it is just switch in on and off nonstop it could a sign of a bad clutch or the A/C system is low on Freon. It can also be due to a faulty pressure cycling switch.

First check the Freon level make sure it is full. If it is low top off.
Here is a helpful video:

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
