1993 Acura Legend over heating

When the car is running both fan doesn't come on the meter show that it is all most over heating it is all most in the red zone, but when the car is off the fan come on. I check the fuses both of then they are ok can u help me tell me what to do next to stop it from over heating thank you.

Hi viencnet,

There are a few items that can cause the problem.

1. Radiator Fan control sensor, located at lower right side of radiator. Check if it is connected. Unplug the connector and use a jumper across the terminals. Turn ignition switch ON and if the fan runs, the sensor is faulty.

2. Radiator fan control module. Turn On A/C and if fans do not come on, this item coudl be faulty.

3. Fan control unit. Testings would have to be done to determine if it is faulty.
