I have a 1996 Acura Integra and took my car in for a timing belt replacement. After he was done, he also informed me that the CV joint boots in my car are almost cracked and needs to be replaced for $294.00. I haven't noticed any problems with my car, so my question is, when should the CV joint boots be replaced? My car has a mileage of 122,000. I just don't want to be taken in for unneccessary work, if it is the case. Thanks

How can he see if their almost cracked? Either they are cracked or their not.

And when its time to have them replaced replace the whole shaft its alot cheaper then having it torn apart and new boots put on, this one cuts the time in half.
