every time I step on the gas pedal it takes long for it to shift gear and it stalling. Basically the car takes a long time to accelerate. One other thing it jerk when ever you shift onto drive and the gas pedal is stiff. How do I fix this or what do you think is wrong.

Hi famouslrg,

If the throttle feels heavy and suddenly frees up, it should be caused by the throttle valve plate sticking. Cleaning the throttle body should solve the problem.

If it is heavy all the way, the throtle cable should be bad or routed incorrectly.

Slow acceleration could be due to improper ignition timing, throttle cable out of adjustment, bad throttle position sensor, fuel system or ignition coils.

Jerking when shifting into gear could be due to bad mounts, high idling rpm or out of adjustment trans throttle pressure cable.
