1995 Acura Integra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

having problem with standard transmission. It will go into 3rd gear fine when not moving with the clutch pressed. And when down shifting. But the second you apply power (gas) it pops out of 3rd gear. It can not be held into gear. Also it wont even grind or make a noise when you try to put it into reverse. Its lust like its locked out of reverse. Any ideas on this one?

Hi shawnb707,

The trans 3rd speed scychronizer hub and rings are worn or you have excessive clearance in the side thrust of the mainshaft.

It could be related to the reverse and for this, you need to strip the trans to have a look at the internals.
