1991 Acura Integra

My 91 integra is losing power. It wont rev past 4000 rpms and when it comes close there is some sputtering and white smoke. I recently chenged the spark plugs which looked relatively new and they were black and sooty and there was a little oil on top. Any suggestions?

Hi maxdookstain,

Black and sooty spark plugs means either the engine is runnig rich or the sparks are weak.

Check for
1. Faulty TPS, MAP, O2 sensor.
2. Clogged exhaust system, catalytic converter.
3. Faulty fuel injectors.
