My 90 Acura has sprung a leak and it has to have the power steering rack replaced. Is an alignment necessary after these kings of repairs.

Also, the auto mech. Said that I would want to keep an eye on my fluid until I am able to get the part replaced. The leak isn't "gushing" but I do not know the average amounts that are used. How often do you suggest should I check the fluid? I drive about 12 miles a day residential streets.

Thanks!

I would have the alignment checked. I would also make it a daily routine to check the steering fluid. Especially to set a basis for how much the system loses. Maybe after that you can trust every other day or so as a date to check it. Always wise to check the fluids, all of them. Many people forget to check the oil, coolant level at the overflow, brake fluid, tranny fluid, washer fluid, power steering fluid, and clutch fluid.
