The actuator blend door in the driver side doesn't open all of the time on the driver's side. The passenger side works fine. Is there a way it can remain open?

Hi,

I assume you have dual temp zones on this vehicle. If that is the case, can you tell me what the symptoms are? By you saying the actuator doesn't open all the time I assume you mean it doesn't reach the temperature that you have selected?

If this is the case, it could be the actuator or it it could be the duct temp sensor on that side. Basically, the climate module looks at the temp sensor to determine where to put the blend door to achieve the temp you have selected. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to get the door to just remain in one position. So we will need to figure out the issue in order to correct it.

Let me know this info and we can go from there.

Hi Kasekenny, that is the exact problem I'm having, but my vehicle is a 2006 Chrysler 300 touring 3.5L. How do we fix it?

I attached the procedure for replacing the driver side blend door. Assuming you have dual temperature zones, then the actuator has most likely failed. Let me know if you have questions. Thanks
