My serpentine belt broke last week and I replaced it two (2) additional times after the additional replacement, all to no avail. So, after finally taking it to my mechanic and him having to replace one of the pulleys, the auto power-up function on the rear windows (only on the rear passenger windows), has ceased to function, as is the case with the power rear liftgate. I am unable to open/close the power rear liftgate by pressing the open/close button on my key fob. I cannot open/close the liftgate with my key fob since the serpentine belt broke initially.

These problems seem separate from each other. I would check the operation of the spare remote to rule out the fob failure, which is common, you can try changing the battery in the remote as well. I would even go as far as getting a replacement remote because the buttons wear out on them.

here are new remotes on Amazon:

Next, I would check all fuses in the car with the systems on, this guide can help:

If all the fuses are okay, it could be the driver's door module or the rear SAM control unit. We will need to do a CAN scan to see what codes come up, you can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

here is a video to show you how:

Here is one for about $99.00 if you need it:

Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
