Compressor went out, as I always do to most cars I just replace the compressor. The clutch turned as soon as I added some Freon, but looking at the A/C gauges, where there is an eye that shows when Freon is going through, I see clear water looking fluid instead of green Freon. Any ideas? Is it just needing vacuum? Can I just remove ends of the hoses and flush them with air? I just want to make sure I get air before I do anymore work such as changing the dryer and so forth.

Hi,

If the system was not pulled into a vacuum after the compressor was replaced then this is most likely moisture in the system. So yes, you need to pull it into a vacuum and then recharge the system. Not only will this pull moisture out of the system but it should hold a vacuum to ensure there are no leaks.

Once you get this done, fill it with the proper amount of Freon and then let me know what your pressures are with the engine off and then with the engine on and AC on MAX.

Thanks
