I have put two cans of 134a in the car, and the compressor started to click on after the first one. Air got cold but after a day or two it seems to be not as cold. Can the system be full (where it will not take anymore) and not have enough 134a in it? Or can the cheap cans of 134a I buy also be the problem?

Good afternoon.

It may have a leak and the Freon is low again.

Do you have gauges to tell me the high and low side readings?

No I do not, just seems that it will not take no more. I have tried to put in a sealer with the dye but it seems to not take it. That is where I left of at.

Okay.

Sealers are a very bad idea. They contaminate the valves in the system and cause problems. Glad it did not take it.

I suggest getting a set of gauges at either a parts store, who will rent them to you, or buy a cheap set at Harbor Freight.

Once we know the pressures we can continue to see if the compressor and the expansion valve are working.

Is the clutch engaged when you command the AC to turn on?
