I charged with refrigerant but the compressor cuts on and off and the car is not cooling.

Hi,

There are a number of reasons for the compressor to do what is called short cycling but the main one is low Freon pressure. Let's start with measuring the pressure on the high and low side with a gauge set, not one of the gauges that come on one of the refill Freon bottles. We need to see what both sides actually are reading and go from there.

Another possible cause is if the fans are not running on the front of the engine. When you have the engine running can you see if they are working? Lastly, there could an issue with the high pressure switch, but again, this is where we need verify pressures.

Let me know if you can get the gauge set and what they are with the engine off (static) and then with it running and AC on MAX.
