A/C compressor evacuate and recharge

I would like to evacuate and recharge the A/C, what type of oil the compressor will take and how much I need to add.

Hello,

This compressor uses PAG 46 oil.
The capacity is 4.5 ounces.

So, the capacity of the compressor is 4.5 oz. So how much I need to add when I evacuate the system and recharge? I m sure not 4.5 oz?

If you are just evacuating the system and recharging and not replacing any components like the compressor or any other part, then the amount of oil that will escape will be minimal and it will be impossible to know how much it actually escaped. In most cases you do not have to add any oil if all you do is discharge and recharge the system.

Here is a guide you can use of how much to add by components replacement:

Compressor = 1.2 ounces
Evaporator = 1.5 ounces
Condenser =.6 ounces
Accumulator =.6 ounces
Hoses =.6 ounces
