ABS code C0035, lost comm with left front wheel speed sensor. Checked sensor, it was bad. Here is what I did-
-New wheel speed sensor (twice)
-Cleaned / insp. Tone ring
-Checked continuity in wires from sensor to ABS module.
-Cleaned / insp. Ground at module
-Replaced ABS module
-Checked ABS functioning with scan tool
-Cleared light, drove 50 miles

ABS light still on, same code. Tried graphing wheel speed while driving, front right and rear normal, left front shows nothing on graph.

Please help, I am stumped. Thank you.

So new sensor, ABS module and the wiring checked, lets use a volt meter and spin the wheel to see if you are getting signal. this guide can help, I have seen the bearing hub go out and cause a misalignment for the sensor ring FYI.

Thank you for replying.

No signal. The hub was replaced 20k ago with a Timken SP580310.

It looks like the sensor that failed is a bit longer than the new factory one, so its not close enough to the tone ring to get a signal. I've tried 2 acdelco ones, and 3 aftermarket ones, all the same thing, too short. There is no part number on the original failed one. I tried calling timken for the part number for the sensor that comes in their hub assembly, but they said they dont have one, and it cant be bought seperately.

So all the sensors that supposidly go with the vehicle are too short to work. How do I find one that is longer, so it gets a signal?

Here is the part number for the left front wheel speed sensor so you can be sure you have the right one.

23144527 - AC Delco / GM original equipment.

Yes, thank you. That is the one that I installed twice, and is too short.

It must be because of the aftermarket hub then.

You're probably right, but what do I do, I still need to fix it. I can't use a stock hub because the stock one is 2wd, and this van has been changed to 4wd.

I would try to get a sensor for the 4x4 version.
