ABS sensor on front wheel was damaged when shop changed front hub. Car headlamp washer was starting to lose power and finally quit working days afterwards if driving car without ABS sensor. Car started running rough and CEL was flashing message said slow down, so I parked it. Changed all plugs and coils now engine ran fine when started up afterwards but now message comes up on dash says "power failure" and was losing steering so parked it again. My question is, with ABS wheel speed sensor missing will you get error warning messages? I have sensor now and want to install, how hard is it? I believe shop should pay for sensor since had no ABS light on before I got hub changed also. Why did headlamp washer lose power when ABS sensor missing?

Thanks

Good afternoon.

The ABS sensor has no effect on the other failures. There is no connection between them all.

As far as the washer pump and the signal for low power, I would start with having the battery voltage checked. If it is low in charge, these systems will have issues.

I attached a picture of the sensor. Remove the connector from the sensor and then remove the hold down bolt and the sensor will come out.
