My daughters Volvo needs rear brake pads. Although I have done brakes in the past it has mostly been on Toyota, Hyundai and my Ford Explorer. When I took a look at the caliper, I was not familiar with the type of caliper bolt; it seems to be a hex type fitting rather than a bolt head. Does anyone know what type of tool I need to remove these caliper bolts? Also, once removed can the caliper piston be depressed using a C type clamp? Any help would be appreciated. Thx.

Caliper bolts will ether be TORX or hex, count the points in it to see, if its like a octagon its hex, if its star shaped its gonna be a torx.

To compress the cylinder there is a special tool available to turn and compress the rear cylinder because of the parking brake.
