Cannot turn the fan off except when you turn the engine off

Heat and air buttons work fine. When the "off" button is pushed, screen goes blank, fan speeds up and blows through defrost area. Changed out the control unit with a used one and have same results.

Good afternoon,

This sounds like a blower resistor shorted to power. Only when the key is off is when power goes away.

The blower resistor is behind the right side valve cover against the firewall. It has a single electrical connector and two attaching bolts. It is very tight it get to it.
