A/C cold on passenger side, warm on drivers side

Air flow same on both sides. Problem is it is warm on drivers side, cold on drivers side.

Good afternoon.

There is an actuator that fails and does not move the door for heat or cold. in your case, it is under the dash right side. you need to drop the lower panel and it is on the side of the case.

Another common cause of symptoms like that on a GM car is being slightly low on refrigerant. You can observe the actuator that Roy refers to and see if it is responding to commands correctly but I would also do an evacuate and recharge to get the charge exactly where it should be.

I described the problem wrong. It is warm on drivers side and plenty cold on passengers side, switch to floor only, warm on drivers feet, cold on passengers feet. Dual passenger control has no effect. Defrost works fine. Also, air flow is the same on both sides, just warm on drivers side and cold on passengers side. How many actuators are there? Is there one strictly for dual control? Thank you very much for taking the time, your help is greatly appreciated!

Roy is probably right then. It does sound like a blend door problem. There should be two blend door actuators. You need to determine which one is not responding to change.

Yes, either under or through the glove box. You might need to remove some bracing.

After reading a post on your site a guy said it could be low Freon. I could not understand that could be possible but I decided to put one small can in and see. Sure enough it cools fine on both sides. Still do not understand it. I guess there must be a sensor somewhere that was not reaching the proper temperature. Thank you and all who post their opinions and experiences.
