Ok. A local mechanic told me that he diagnosed the truck and the transmission has reverse band broken. I was also informed from a few trans savvy guys that the reverse and 1st gear use the same band. How is this possible when they both have the same band and my truck shifts perfectly through all fears except reverse? Please help

More than likely this is an issue with the servo that applies the band.

This band rarely breaks but the servo fails frequently so I suspect this would be the issue.

However, the transmission guy that you were talking too was half right. This is also applied in first but manual first so this means when you put the vehicle in drive, it doesn't apply the band.

So, if you drop it down to manual first and it doesn't move then I would go in and replace the servo.

I am attaching the info below on this. You should also change the filter and fluid.

Please run through this and let us know if you have other questions.
