91 Ford Laser overheated now wont start

Hi I heard a ticking noise in my car whilst driving and noticed it was overheating so I pulled over turned it off, I lifted the bonnet and there was steam everywhere I waited till it cooled right down put water in radiator now it wont start, any ideas

Check the fuel pressure if its within specs and injectors are pulsing if okay look for spark then let me know

When you try to start it, does it sound normal? Have you checked to see if there is spark and fuel to the engine?

It does the normal rrrrrr but sounds like it wants to go but wont if that makes any sense

You may have blown head gaskets or warped a head causing low compression. Tell me one more thing. Since you have spark, will the engine start with starting fluid?
